Field Heavy Equipment Technician As a Field Heavy Equipment Technician at Quinn Caterpillar, you will diagnose, service, maintain, and repair Caterpillar® heavy equipment and other machinery used across construction, industrial, and rental operations. Technicians at Quinn work with advanced tools and diagnostic systems to keep machines operating safely, efficiently, and at peak productivity. Quinn offers clear career paths including shop technician, field service technician, and specialized technical roles. Wages Starting wage will depend on experience and education. $45.08 - $57.54 Responsibilities About the Role As a Field Heavy Equipment Technician, you will travel to customer job sites to diagnose, service, maintain, and repair heavy equipment and machinery. You will work independently from a fully equipped service truck, applying your mechanical expertise to ensure equipment uptime and customer satisfaction.

$33.80 - $57.50 per hour, depending on experience and education Key Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on Caterpillar® and related equipment Use specialized tools and diagnostic software to complete high-quality repairs Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime Maintain accurate service records, repair orders, and inspection documentation Communicate professionally with customers and internal service teams regarding repairs and equipment status Follow all safety protocols and company procedures at every job site Continuously develop technical skills through training and hands-on experience Deliver exceptional customer service while resolving mechanical issues in the field Utilize diagnostic tools such as Cat Electronic Technician (ET) and other testing equipment Qualifications One-year certificate or associate degree from a community college or technical school preferred 5 + years of heavy equipment industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Apply Today Join Quinn Caterpillar as a Field Heavy Equipment Technician and grow your career with a team dedicated to keeping the world moving.
