Job Description

Job Overview:
Inspect, service, and repairs motorized power equipment, pressure washers, lawnmower motors, etc. Uses mechanic hand tools and electric test equipment. Follows manufacturers' diagrams to troubleshoot and repair small engines. Examines small engines during to determine cause of malfunction, excess vibration, overheating, fluid leak, or loose parts. Adjusts, calibrates gas regulators and airflow valves. Replaces worn or defective parts, such as switches, pumps, bearings, belts, gears, blowers, and defective wiring. Reassembles small engines, adjusts belts. Lubricates moving parts.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Discuss equipment issues, maintenance plans and work performed with customers. Performs routine engine maintenance, such as lubricating parts and replacing spark plugs. Test and inspect engines for malfunctioning parts. Orders necessary repair parts and repairs engine as required. Adjust component according to specifications. Reassemble and reinstall components and engines following repairs. Participation in functional specific safety training. Keeps records of inspections, test results, work performed, and parts used. Performs duties in lower related job classifications.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Four (4) years' experience in the maintenance and repair of small engine Must possess and maintain a valid California State REAL ID Driver's License. Certified by Equipment & Engine Training Council preferred. Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English. Ability to read, write, and receive written and/or verbal instructions
