In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of trailer and heavy equipment systems to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance. Your expertise will help keep our fleet operational and reliable, supporting the seamless operation of our transportation and logistics services. Duties Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers, including air brake systems, suspensions, hydraulics, and electrical components. Conduct routine maintenance such as tire service, wheel alignments, shocks & struts replacement, and general vehicle upkeep. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues on heavy equipment like excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet operational specifications. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment to ensure safe handling of large parts or machinery during repairs. Requirements Proven experience working as a mechanic in a dealership or heavy equipment environment with a strong background in trailer repair. Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, brakes (including air brake systems), hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; ability to read schematics accurately. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including forklifts, tractor-trailers, and farm machinery. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; physically capable of working in various environmental conditions. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills for interacting professionally with clients or team members.
