Duties Lead and supervise a team of mechanics, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality repairs and maintenance Diagnose complex mechanical issues using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and hands-on inspection techniques Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and farm machinery Conduct fabrication work including welding, soldering, and custom modifications to meet operational needs Maintain detailed records of all service activities, including inspections, repairs, parts used, and compliance documentation Utilize power tools, hand tools, hydraulic systems, and electrical testing equipment to troubleshoot and repair various machinery components Ensure adherence to safety protocols related to air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC units, transmissions, tire service, wheel alignment, shocks & struts Oversee the proper use of lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts during repairs or assembly tasks Collaborate with other departments to schedule maintenance without disrupting operational workflows Stay current with industry standards for heavy equipment operation and automotive repair techniques Skills Extensive dealership experience with heavy machinery and automotive repair preferred Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for complex equipment systems Strong fabrication skills including welding and metalwork; experience with power tools essential Knowledge of excavator operation, crane mechanics, tractor-trailer systems, HVAC units, diesel engines and transmissions Skilled in electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting for industrial equipment and vehicles Ability to perform vehicle maintenance tasks such as brake repair, tire service, alignment adjustments and suspension work Experience with hydraulics systems including repairs on loaders or excavators Familiarity with farm machinery maintenance as well as industrial equipment servicing Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience in assembly and equipment repair Strong customer service orientation to communicate effectively with internal teams or external clients when needed Capable of heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex repairs or installations This role is vital for ensuring our fleet remains reliable and safe for daily operations.
