The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety. This role requires expertise in various mechanical systems, including electrical components, and the ability to work with OEM specifications. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting routine maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment.
  • Duties
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in heavy equipment, including Caterpillar machinery.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment such as tractor-trailers and other heavy machinery.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete repairs.
  • Fabricate parts as necessary to ensure equipment functionality.
  • Align, suspend, transmit, and adjust components to meet OEM specifications.
  • Conduct inspections to identify potential problems before they escalate.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar machinery is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience working with OEM specifications is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license may be required for operating company vehicles.
