The Heavy Equipment Mechanic role is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a wide range of heavy machinery used in construction, excavation, transportation, and other industrial applications. This position requires a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance and equipment safety. Essential Functions of the
Position:
Be able to diagnose with the use of a computer Be able to access online service manuals and interpret them. Assures that maintenance schedules are followed. Assures all safety rules are followed. Communication with the Manager. Be able to rebuild small components.
Skills and Knowledge:
Oral and written communication skills. English language skills. Interpersonal, customer service, and public relations skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations. Ability to use Excel and Outlook. Ability to interpret schematics. Knowledge of Crane operation.
Requirements:
Must have a valid Class A or B driver's license. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Ability to work with supervision, receiving instructions/feedback, coaching/counseling and/or action/discipline. Have tools appropriate for the job. Basic Knowledge of electronics and hydraulics.

Bending neck up:
Occasional to continuous for up to 30 seconds at a time for up to 10 minutes total in a work shift while looking at the upper areas of structures.
Bending/Stooping:
often on flat cement, asphalt, or other hard surfaces for up to 5 hours at a time. Operating Controls with
Feet:
Frequently to Continuously for up to 30 minutes at a time for up to 5-6 hours total in a work shift while driving the Company vehicle.
Reaching above shoulder height:
Often. Reaching from waist to shoulder height: Often. Reaching from knee to waist height: Often. Lifting or carrying 1-60 pounds: Frequently for up to 1 hour at a time for up to 5 hours total in a work shift. Most commonly occurs with weights of 2-5 pounds. Pushing and pulling often for distances of up to 50 feet at a time with a force of up to 60 pounds and up to 10 minutes total in a work shift.
Handling:
From frequently to continuously for up to 30 minutes at a time for up to 5-6 hours total in a work shift. Operating Controls with
Hands:
Occasionally for up to 30 minutes at a time for 5-6 hours total in a work shift while driving a Company vehicle.
Talking:
Occasionally, up to 5 minutes at a time for up to 1 hour during a work shift.
Hearing:
Continuously for up to 2 hours at a time for up to 8 hours or complete a work shift while listening to potential hazards, alarms, radio, or telephone communication, and driving.
Seeing:
Continuously for up to 2 hours at a time for up to 8 hours or full work shift. Working with

Continuously for up to 2 hours at a time for up to 8 hours or a full work shift in total while identifying potential hazards, performing perimeter checks, observing Company facilities, and safeguarding Company property against damage or loss.
Environmental Factors:
Work is performed indoors and outdoors on the Company's property. The noise level is approximately 30- 90 decibels, caused by everything from an empty office to alarms and sirens.
