Local Family-owned Vending Company is looking to hire a reliable, energetic individual to join our service and install team as a Service Mechanic Technician supporting our vending machines, Micro Markets, new high-tech smart cooler and coffee systems solutions. Great Opportunity to join our expanding company Experience preferred, but willing to train the right technical individuals on emerging vending systems technology Must be reliable, on-time and have 2 years of consistent work experience Ability to work independently and with a team on the road at client locations and Berkshire Foods main office, as needed Excellent communication skills; experience with hand tools and smartphone communication devices to interact with Dispatcher and update service tickets real-time in Vending/Cantaloupe software. Full time, Monday-Friday - approximately 40 hours Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis. Requirement:
Driving experience is required; Berkshire Foods specific equipment training on the job is available. Valid driver license and good driving record required (Background and Motor Vehicle Record check will be performed before hire and annually)

Berkshire Foods solutions include vending, markets, office coffee, and snacks. Job Summary We are hiring immediately for a full-time vending systems Mechanic position. The mechanic is a key member of the Berkshire Service team who enables the availability of our products to clients and maintains strong relationships. The mechanic brings reliable access to a wide variety of snacks, foods, and beverages to our clients through new innovative machines and markets, helping to create exciting customer experiences. With Berkshires' investment in state-of-the-art technology, including "smart coolers", the mechanic will have the opportunity to expand their skills on the job.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide quality customer service by providing one-on-one attention to detail Respond quickly to dispatch calls for machine and equipment repairs or needed maintenance. Listen to and resolves service complaints; reports all client and/or customer complaints or equipment mechanical issues to immediate supervisor in a timely manner if not through dispatch Call on existing customers to determine adequacy of service; resolve service issues or complaints Inspect machines and equipment to determine/locate causes of malfunctions, dismantle machines to gain access to problem areas (re-assembles upon completion of repair) Inspect parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems; remove and replace worn or defective parts; repairs broken parts; realign and adjust components; test machine operation following repair to ensure it is in working order Review inventory and requests parts to be ordered as necessary; ships and receives machines; maintains equipment inventory Set up and operate mechanical equipment and small hand tools for machine and equipment repair. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, perform job safely at client sites ensuring any dirt and debris is removed or discarded. Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of vending machines and other related equipment to help ensure safety. Inspect machines to ensure they are clean inside and out. Assist in vending machine delivery as needed Assist in delivery and Installation and set-up of new Micro Markets and state of the art "Smart Coolers" at strategic client locations Participate/assist in strategic Berkshire Foods projects that the service department must complete to support business objectives (e.g., pricing updates, Planogram changes, special vending product promotions) Prior to beginning each day's route, ensure that truck is properly loaded with all parts required to properly service all scheduled machines, including coins for change, as necessary. Provide client and customer satisfaction in all aspects of job performance. Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of vending machines and other related equipment to help ensure safety. Keep company vehicle clean and always organized; perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections. Adheres to stringent Berkshire's driver safety guidelines and reports any vehicle issues or damages to supervisor immediately. Perform other duties as assigned. Proficiency in using hand-held devices to respond to send and receive service tickets and provide updates to Berkshire's office and track tech performance. Understand and adhere to stringent safety protocols required to operate Berkshire vehicles which are equipped with new high-tech telematics and cameras to keep our drivers and others safe on the road. New Hires will work together with Experienced Berkshire Foods Vending mechanics to learn additional skills on the job. Work Location is both on the road at clients' locations and in Berkshire Foods Main Office - 11 Old Newtown Rd.
Danbury CT Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
