Maintenance Technician -
Heavy Equipment Pay:
$21-$40 per hour (based on experience) Schedule:
Full-time | Monday-Friday | 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of heavy construction equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. You'll perform both preventative maintenance and complex repairs in a shop and field environment. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment including: Backhoes, graders, wheel loaders, skid steers, excavators, milling machines, and pavers Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Respond to breakdowns and complete emergency repairs to minimize downtime Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify equipment issues Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics Disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild components and equipment as needed Test, calibrate, and adjust machinery to meet performance and safety standards Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs Work collaboratively with team members to prioritize work orders Travel to job sites (for road technician assignments) using company-provided vehicle Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of heavy equipment maintenance and repair experience preferred Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Experience with engine and equipment diagnostics Ability to read and interpret technical schematics Proven troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems Ability to work independently and handle complex repairs Experience using advanced diagnostic tools and software Strong problem-solving and communication skills DOT physical certification (or ability to obtain) for road technician roles Willingness to participate in ongoing technical training What We Offer Direct-hire opportunity with a stable, growth-oriented company Competitive pay based on experience Comprehensive benefits package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off package: 2 weeks PTO 56 hours of sick time Paid holidays + your birthday off $1,000 annual tool allowance $150 annual boot allowance Ongoing training and career advancement opportunities Work Environment This position is primarily based in a shop setting , with opportunities for field service work . Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Henrietta, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $83200.00/yr.
