Job Description

Responsible for the implementation of a preventive maintenance and equipment repair program. Work is performed both in a new workshop facility and at the field construction projects locations. Projects are located from Punta Gorda, FL to Naples, FL and are all Site Development related projects. You will supervise Shop and Field Mechanics, Welders, Fuelers, Lubrication Technicians, Lowbed Driver and equipment move between the projects. Additionally, you will coordinate parts and consumables purchases through the purchasing department and maintain a safe working environment and safety policies for your entire crew. You have the right to stop any unsafe practices you may encounter on any of the sites.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Supervise maintenance and repair of all Equipment both on and off highway. Fleet composes of Owned and Leased Caterpillar, John Deere and Komatsu Heavy earth movers. A variety of Highway Pickup trucks, Mechanic and Welder Trucks, Low Bed and Tractor, Flatbed Trucks, Fuel and Lube Trucks and others. You will coordinate the repairs keeping mind of Warranty related repairs that go to the venders and repairs that are the responsibility of the company. Workers are both English and Spanish speaking therefore bilingual is preferred but not a requirement. Daily you need to check the equipment on various sites to determine faults that need to be corrected and prioritize the repairs keeping the job supervisors in the loop to minimize down time and assign the technicians and venders to make the necessary repairs. Site supervisors will contact you directly with breakdowns and faults that need corrective action. Your maintenance and repair experience will be needed to direct the process. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, drive, climb on equipment, employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Lift up to 50 pounds. Past experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment is mandatory. This is a full-time position with an established south Florida general contractor that has been in business for 50 years. Excellent pay and benefits with the opportunity to grow with the company.
Pay:
$2,200.00 - $2,600.00 per week
