Job Overview:
Our company is seeking a skilled and certified Elevator Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a Certified Elevator Technician license or a State-Issued Elevator Mechanic License, demonstrating expertise in maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting elevators and related machinery for at least 5 years. The candidate should possess a strong knowledge of hand and electrical tools, as well as electrical reading and testing equipment. This role requires physical dexterity, as it involves climbing, crawling, and working in various conditions, including high ladders and scaffolding.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Elevator Technician license or State-Issued Elevator Mechanic License
  • Proficiency in the use of hand and electrical tools (grinders, drill motors, coring machines)
  • Familiarity with electrical reading and testing equipment, hoisting and rigging equipment, chain tackles, etc.
  • Physical fitness to perform tasks involving climbing, crawling, stooping, and lifting
  • Ability to lift and carry tools and materials weighing in excess of 50 pounds, and carry items weighing 200 pounds with assistance
  • Comfort working at heights and in proximity to moving and working equipment
  • Availability to work on an on-call basis in cases of emergency
Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex maintenance, servicing, repair, and troubleshooting of elevators and related machinery
  • Investigate problems of electric, mechanical, and/or hydraulic nature, determining issues and making necessary repairs
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections of elevators on a scheduled basis to ensure effective and efficient operation, and compliance with safety regulations and OSHA requirements
  • Perform annual tests to ensure proper operation of safety devices
  • Assist in determining the suitability of present elevator equipment, proposed modifications, and new equipment
  • Work in various environments, including dusty and dirty places such as elevator shafts and pits, where temperatures may exceed 100 degrees, and equipment may be oily and greasy
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
