Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an Aerial Work Platform Mechanic, where you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and repairing aerial work platforms and heavy equipment used across various industries. Your expertise will ensure these vital machines operate safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our clients' projects and operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of machinery, including forklifts, cranes, excavators, and other industrial equipment. Your mechanical skills and attention to detail will directly contribute to safety standards and operational excellence. Duties Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on aerial work platforms such as boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other elevated access equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems using schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct fabrication and modification tasks to improve or adapt equipment for specific job requirements. Repair and maintain associated heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm or industrial equipment. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and alignment tools to execute repairs accurately. Test repaired equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational specifications before returning it to service. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and safety documentation for all repairs and inspections performed. Skills Proven experience working as a mechanic in dealership settings or heavy equipment environments. Strong knowledge of hydraulics, suspensions, transmissions, air brake systems, HVAC systems, diesel engines, shocks & struts, brake repair, tire service, welding and fabrication techniques. Ability to read and interpret schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic systems. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering devices and alignment tools for precise repairs. Experience with automotive diagnostics combined with mechanical knowledge applicable to farm machinery or industrial equipment. Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and safety procedures related to vehicle maintenance and equipment repair. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Ability to perform heavy-duty tasks such as lifting heavy components safely while maintaining a high standard of quality in all repairs.
