Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Chimney Technician Assistant and be a vital part of delivering top-quality chimney and fireplace services! This position will possibly begin with part time employment but move to full time. This energetic role offers hands-on experience in the construction and restoration industry, supporting skilled technicians in completing chimney repairs, installations, and maintenance. Whether you're just starting out or looking to expand your construction skills, this paid position provides a fantastic opportunity to grow your expertise in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Duties Assist with the demolition, cleaning, and preparation of chimney structures for repair or installation projects Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely to perform tasks such as bricklaying, mortar mixing, and scaffolding setup Support the installation of chimney liners, caps, crowns, and flashing components according to project specifications Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to understand project requirements and ensure accurate execution Perform site inspections to verify safety standards and quality control throughout each phase of the project Aid in the fabrication and assembly of chimney components using carpentry, masonry, welding, and other techniques Assist with restoration projects involving stucco, plastering, caulking, roofing, and hardscape work to enhance structural integrity and appearance Skills Prior experience working on construction sites or in masonry, roofing, or restoration projects is highly preferred Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings is a plus Hands-on knowledge of construction management practices and estimating processes is beneficial Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts or cranes enhances your suitability for this role Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical systems, or glass installation can be advantageous but is not required Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in various construction tasks Strong physical stamina with the ability to stand, lift heavy materials, climb scaffolding or ladders comfortably. We value safety first—training will be provided on all equipment and procedures necessary for success.
