Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Construction

Duties and Responsibilities Include :

Travel to various jobsites to perform vehicle/equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance Troubleshoot, repair and maintain heavy duty and other construction machinery including electric and fuel system engines Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repair with minimal supervision Repairing damaged equipment and parts Cleaning, lubricating and conducting routine services on heady duty equipment Report and stay in constant contact with Equipment Maintenance Division Interacts with employees on various jobsites in a professional and respectful manner assessing equipment issues and resolving those issues with the utmost urgency Documents and reports mechanical issues, diagnoses them and order required parts to repair heavy equipment Interacts with employees on various jobsites in a professional and respectful manner

Position Requirements:

Must have at least five years' experience maintaining and repairing various pieces of equipment such as Backhoe, Excavator, Grader, Bulldozer, or other construction heavy equipment. Must possess own tools Must be able to work on several types and brands of equipment Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment Must be able to read and understand electrical & hydraulic schematics Proven work experience as a diesel mechanic, construction equipment or off-road Trucks Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools Testing repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications Welding experience required Clean driving record High School diploma or GED Journeyperson certificate or Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic certificate Able to pass a background check Able to pass a drug test as we are a drug free employer
