We are proud of our employees and consider each one a valuable resource. Henningsen Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Road Mechanic to support our Asphalt Division . This position is responsible for keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently by preventing, diagnosing, and correcting mechanical issues at the job site. Position Summary The Road Mechanic performs on‑site maintenance and repairs for a wide range of heavy highway and asphalt construction equipment. This role requires strong diagnostic skills, mechanical expertise, and effective communication with field leadership to minimize downtime. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and replace components on heavy‑duty construction and asphalt equipment Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs at job sites Communicate equipment issues clearly with foremen and superintendents Ensure repairs meet safety and operational standards Travel to out‑of‑town job sites as required during the construction season Qualifications Proven experience working on heavy‑duty construction and asphalt equipment Strong troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills Ability to work independently in field conditions Must provide own tools Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record-CDL preferred Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug test
Work Schedule Summer:
Long hours and frequent out‑of‑town travel can be expected
