Job Description

Hughes Heavy Equipment has an immediate opening for a Mobile Heavy Duty Mechanic . Performing on-site repair work at customer location or traveling to various Hughes Heavy location. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing issues with our vocational products. We are seeking a self-motivated, professional individual who takes pride in what they do and strive to be the best in the industry. Responsibilities Performs routine and specialized, maintenance and repairs on refuse collection and concrete mixers of various manufacturers, focusing on our represented brands. Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment. Works with all chassis systems, diesel and CNG power trains, Allison automatic transmissions, electrical/electronic systems including advanced multiplex systems, hydraulics and welding with an emphasis on electrical and hydraulics. Communicates with manufacturers and customers to resolve issues. Collaborate with team members to solve complex technical problems and ensure timely completion of projects. Utilize power tools safely and effectively during repair processes. Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on equipment. Operate a forklift and hoist. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent education required 3-5 years of experience with maintenance and repair of vocational, class 8 trucks and related equipment. Strong fabrication ability along with previous experience with basic hand tools. 5+ years of Journeyman level technician experience in the refuse and/or mixer market preferred. Technical or associate's degree in a Diesel/CNG Technician or Technology program or equivalent preferred CDL required (or ability to obtain) Join us in maintaining the machinery that drives our operations forward!
