 Flexible working hours, including nights and weekendsTravel requirements: 95-100% (U.S.-based)How You'll Make an ImpactAs a non-exempt/hourly employee at Burwood, the Field Services Technician is an entry- level position in technology implementation and is part of our Professional Services Enterprise Networking team. This role provides an opportunity for learning and development of technical and consultative skills while working alongside our Consultants and Burwood project team members. Individuals will be expected to develop a broad base of knowledge and become well-rounded in several technologies.

In this role, the Field Services Technician has the following responsibilities:

Learn and develop technical and soft skillsProvide technical support on various client projectsFollow direction and guidance from team leaders and mentorsWork cohesively with other Burwood Group project team members and co-workersComplete client site assessment surveys accurately and comprehensivelyDocument and inventory all on-site technology to prep for network/server stack cutovers and possible low voltage/high voltage upgradesConduct LiDAR and Ekahau assessments for client sites to provide wireless heatmapping proposalsFacilitate the installation and configuration of new network equipment racks, workstation deployments, and other technology infrastructure upgradesAct as an on-site liaison for remote engineers, clearly communicating any issues or required adjustments for facilitating site cutoversPerform basic troubleshooting for common issues such as label printing problems, VLAN identification, and misc. hardware/software troubleshootingReview site instructions before arrival and ensure all tools and equipment are prepared and functionalCollect and document detailed notes and photographs of completed workMaintain the highest level of professionalism and decorum in all client interactionsFollow all site-specific protocols and safety guidelinesQualificationsYour Strengths in ActionYou have practical experience working in IT, professional services, or customer support organizationsYou have an education and/or background in Telecom, network/systems administration, or a related field; ideal candidates will be technical and energetic with an interest in businessYou have a strong interest in developing technical and consulting skillsYou are comfortable interacting and presenting in front of customersYou are able to build strong relationshipsYou are detail-oriented and do not leave anything to chanceYou are a self-starter with the ability to prioritize time and commitmentsYou like to work in a project-based team environmentYou are willing to frequently travel to customer sitesYou are able to manage your travel plans independently (hotel, airfare, rental car, etc.)You are willing to frequently work nights and weekends to facilitate site cutoversYou are flexible to support short-notice schedule changes and scheduling complexitiesYour Core Skills & CertificationsFamiliarity with network equipment (routers, switches, access points) and basic network configurationProficient in using diagnostic tools such as console cables, cable toners, punch-down tools, and multimetersAbility to rack and stack network equipment, workstations, and related hardwareComfortable with troubleshooting common IT issues and providing clear communication to remote engineersAdditional InformationBelonging & CultureWe are not intent on being the largest company, but rather the best.
