The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with heavy machinery, and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues efficiently. Key Responsibilities & Duties Diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical failures in diesel tractors and trucks, including engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes, and other systems, following detailed manuals and factory specifications. Conduct preventative maintenance and thorough inspections to identify and address potential issues before they cause significant problems. Perform electronic troubleshooting using diagnostic equipment to pinpoint and repair electronic component malfunctions. Disassemble and reassemble major vehicle components, such as engines and transmissions, using hoists, jacks, and a comprehensive set of mechanic's hand tools. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed. Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations, including DOT and EPA standards. Qualifications & Requirements A minimum of three years of diesel maintenance experience is required. A valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is essential. A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus. Must possess your own set of professional hand tools . The ability to commute to and work in person at our Chicago, IL location. This role requires a high degree of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to quality work.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
