This position plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing the equipment that keeps our shop and field operations running safely and efficiently. We are looking for a hands-on mechanic with strong troubleshooting skills who can work independently and take pride in keeping equipment operational and production moving. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on: Forklifts Heavy-duty trucks Bobcats / skid steers Trackhoes / excavators Backhoes Compressors, generators, and other support equipment Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, engine, transmission, and mechanical issues Complete inspections and identify potential failures before downtime occurs Maintain maintenance records and repair documentation Coordinate parts ordering and communicate equipment needs to management Respond to equipment breakdowns in the shop and field Ensure all repairs are completed safely and in compliance with company standards Support shop operations during emergency or high-priority repairs Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of experience working on heavy equipment, diesel trucks, or industrial machinery Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems Ability to troubleshoot and repair diesel engines and mobile equipment Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus Ability to work in an industrial railroad environment Must have own basic tools Valid driver's license required CDL is a plus but not required What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Steady, full-time work Overtime opportunities Career growth within a growing railroad service company Hands-on work environment with a variety of equipment and challenges Supportive team atmosphere Preferred Experience Candidates with backgrounds in the following industries are strongly encouraged to apply: Railroad Heavy equipment repair Construction equipment Mining or industrial operations Agricultural equipment Diesel fleet maintenance Apply Today If you are a motivated mechanic who takes pride in keeping equipment operating safely and reliably, we want to hear from you.
