- Follow all company Safe Job Procedures and standard practices:
- Remove, Patch and replace bricks and refractory work on furnace, ladles, tundishes, and other equipment.
- Perform general labor duties as directed.
- Manually record data and other information required for studies, projects, and other directives.
- Maintain adequate supply of all materials in the ladle and tundish build up areas.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment and store materials in proper locations.
- Performs stocking, and pre-staging of all materials, fluxes, and alloys used in the EAF, Caster, and LMF processes.
- Unloads trucks and rail cars.
- Input required information into computer system.
- Operate remote controlled cranes, remote control boxes and pendant controls for remote and pendant operated equipment.
- Operate tractors as required
- Hook/unhook loads from cranes.
- Perform inventories, complete inventory reports, receive materials, sign receiving documents.
- Assist maintenance to maintain and/or repair primary department equipment including assisting with tools and equipment and retrieving parts and tools.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance
- May be assigned work as required in other areas of Sterling Steel Must be able to use tools including but not limited to the following: Shovels, brooms, various cables, slings, chains, mobile equipment, skid-loaders, man-lifts, forklifts, pole tractors, pay-loaders, cranes, mobile cranes, and remote cranes, remote control boxes and pendant controls for remote and pendant operated equipment, computer systems, wrenches and other maintenance tools, pry bars, lancing & Oxy-fuel torches, and any other tools to perform assigned work.
ALL SSC EMPLOYEES ARE EXPECTED TO
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity related to product, process, and the system.
- Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and the quality system.
- Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
- Verify the implementation of solutions.
- Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
