MacAllister has been in business since 1945! Objective This position is primarily responsible is evaluating and performing service and/or repair jobs on engines and generators.

Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, repair, and service equipment (generators, diesel and/or gas engines, transfer switches, switch gear, and etc.) using proper tools and procedures
• Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and efficiently; work orders, service reports, allocation of time, and tracking parts
• Maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring customer needs and deadlines are met
• Complete all scheduled repairs in a safe and efficient manner
• Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
• Adheres to all safety rules and maintains quality housekeeping in work area

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• No formal responsibility for supervising others

Requirements Required:

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
• 3 years or more of mechanical experience with engines/generators/air compressors

Preferred:

• 5 years or more experience with engines/generators, preferably Caterpillar equipment
• Experience with transfer switches, switch gear, uninterrupted power source (UPS) equipment Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of power train, diesel engines, and electrical systems
• Strong communication skills, including verbal, written and listening skills.
• Strong multitasking abilities, detail-oriented and self-motivated
• Excellent customer service skills
• Professional demeanor with both internal and external contacts including personal appearance and friendly, courteous treatment of peers and people at all levels inside and outside the organization
• Strong computer skills experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and the ability to learn CAT/MacAllister/Michigan Cat systems
• Ability to build and maintain effective customer and professional relationships through strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on relationship-building and consistent demonstration of solid professional judgment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure, deadline driven environment
