Keep the crews moving. This full-time, year-round role is ideal for someone who can diagnose, repair, and maintain mowers, tractors, UTVs, trailers, trucks, small engines, diesel equipment, and other grounds maintenance equipment. We're looking for someone reliable, practical, safety-minded, and able to work independently. Our crews maintain large-scale grounds and landscaping operations that support our country's military. To do that well, we need equipment that is safe, reliable, and ready to work every day. What You'll Work On You may maintain and repair: Commercial mowers Tractors UTVs Trailers Pickup trucks and light fleet vehicles String trimmers Blowers Edgers Chainsaws Small engines Diesel and gas-powered equipment What You'll Do Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filters, fluids, blades, belts, brakes, and inspections Help maintain trucks, trailers, and field support equipment Catch wear, leaks, rust, damage, and safety concerns early Keep repair records, service logs, and parts inventory organized Support field crews when equipment needs attention Keep the shop clean, safe, and ready for work Promote safety, quality, and accountability in all maintenance tasks The Right Fit Great fit for candidates in: Junction City, Ogden, Manhattan, Milford, Chapman, Abilene, Wamego, and surrounding communities who are: Mechanically skilled — you know how to diagnose and repair equipment Reliable — people can count on you to show up and follow through Independent — you can manage priorities without constant supervision Observant — you notice small issues before they become big problems Practical — you solve problems and keep work moving Safety-minded — you do the job right, not just fast What You Need Some experience as a mechanic, or with equipment repair, diesel, automotive, maintenance, or small engine experience Knowledge of small engines, mowers, diesel equipment, hydraulics, trailers, UTVs, or fleet maintenance a plus Strong troubleshooting skills Ability to work outdoors and around active job sites Ability to work independently and stay organized Why Munie At Munie, the mechanic keeps the operation moving.
