Heavy Equipment Mech-Apprent Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government - 3.3 Fayette County, KY Job Details Full-time $18.29 an hour 16 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Qualifications High school diploma or GED Driver's License Full Job Description SALARY The minimum salary is $18.286 per hour This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable. Pay Grade 512 This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month, $0.52c/hour) and CDL pay ($1.08/hour) once obtained within the required first six (6) months of employment.

DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to assist heavy equipment technicians perform repairs and maintenance of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government's diverse fleet of heavy equipment, motor vehicles, and related systems.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent No experience required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
With guidance from
Heavy Equipment Technician:
Conducts preventative maintenance on trucks as needed to keep them in proper working condition Changes tires and repairs tires as damage occurs on various vehicles Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair problems that occur on heavy equipment Maintains a clean working environment and cleans the heavy equipment as needed Operates and moves trucks as needed around the facility Receives ongoing training to improve vehicle and equipment repair knowledge, skills and abilities Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment. Valid Driver's License Required to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B within the first six (6) months of employment and maintain the CDL as a condition of continued employment
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16 Must furnish own tools
