Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced
VALVE MECHANIC
for our facility in Port Allen, LA. All work is performed in a climate controlled shop. CORTEC is a design, manufacturing, sales and service organization specializing in flow control applications in the Oil & Gas industry. We supply equipment on some of the most high profile and impactful oil & gas projects all over the world. JOB SUMMARY
Assembles customer and inventory equipment, assembles/repairs defective valves, actuators and related equipment and pipe fittings removed from service, following specifications and procedures using hand tools and power tools.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Dismantle/assemble customer equipment to shop order requirements Recondition surfaces of sealing mechanisms to specified finish Clean parts using electric buffers, solvents, steam cleaner, and sand blasting equipment Verify dimensions of parts using precision measuring equipment Pressure test equipment on testing device to test at specified pressures Utilize work station computer to access pertinent programs and work group dashboard. Perform hardness testing per work order requirements utilizing hardness testing equipment. Stencil customer and inventory equipment per work order requirements utilizing hand and automatic stenciling equipment. Generate and complete assembly legends. Generate and complete Repair & Return Inspection Reports. Operate a forklift and overhead crane.
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior Mechanic experience Must be able to stand for long periods of time Must be able to operate a forklift and overhead crane
