This is a road mechanic role for someone who can diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment on job sites, keep downtime low, and respond when equipment needs service in the field. (Work in the shop when there are no field calls.) The right person is hands-on, reliable, comfortable working independently from a service truck, and experienced with construction, demolition, excavation, or similar heavy equipment. Experience working on Komatsu equipment is strongly relevant. What You'll Work On
  • Komatsu excavators, loaders, dozers, and related heavy equipment
  • Skid steers / compact track loaders
  • Backhoes
  • Dump trucks, service trucks, trailers, and support vehicles
  • Hydraulic, diesel, electrical, brake, drivetrain, and undercarriage systems
  • Job-site emergency repairs and preventive maintenance Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair heavy construction and demolition equipment in the field.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs.
  • Priority is to repair onsite.
  • Service diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, fuel systems, brakes, drivetrains, undercarriages, and attachments.
  • Respond to road calls and job-site equipment issues as needed.
  • Maintain service truck tools, parts, fluids, and repair documentation.
  • Communicate clearly with operations, foremen, and equipment users on repair status and downtime.
  • Keep equipment safe, operational, and ready for demolition and site work.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation as needed. Required Experience
  • Heavy equipment mechanic, diesel mechanic, field service technician, fleet mechanic, or road mechanic experience.
  • Strong diagnostic ability across diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience working on construction, demolition, excavation, paving, utility, rental, or heavy fleet equipment.
  • Ability to work independently in the field with limited supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and clean enough driving record to operate a company/service vehicle.
  • Own basic tools; service truck and specialty tooling to be confirmed. Preferred Experience
  • Prior road mechanic / mobile field service experience.
  • Experience with Komatsu equipment.
  • Demolition equipment experience.
  • Welding/fabrication ability.
  • CDL or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience with CAT, Volvo, John Deere, Case, Bobcat, Takeuchi, Kubota, JLG/Genie, or similar equipment. Compensation
