Short-term Disability Insurance Life insurance Short-term disability 401(k) 401(k) matching Competitive salary Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Position Overview Supporting a local transportation company, the Heavy Duty Mechanic will diagnose and repair diesel and Class A vehicles, focusing on engines, hydraulics, and transmissions. The company has many long-term employees. They value community, safety and quality service, while offering a relaxed and friendly team of self-motivated individuals. This role is Monday-Friday during normal business hours. There may be potential for a part-time option. Saturdays are optional and availability will be dependent upon business needs. Responsibilities Diagnose, inspect, service, and perform maintenance on heavy-duty trucks. Perform preventative maintenance, inspecting for road-worthiness and safety issues. Work with diesel engines, hydraulic equipment, etc. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to turbos, injectors, and radiators. Research and order parts with appropriate approvals. Perform maintenance on trailers, as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Report damages or faulty equipment to management. Additional tasks as needed. Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years' experience working with heavy duty vehicles is required. A Commercial Inspection license is preferred. Maintain excellent communication skills & be able to work independently. Ability to work overtime if required.
