We are seeking a master of the trade to join us as a Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic & Welder . In this dual-impact role, you will be the primary technical force ensuring the operational readiness of our diverse fleet of heavy civil construction equipment and machinery. This position offers the exciting variety of complex mechanical diagnostics alongside custom structural fabrication. What You Will Be Doing You will serve as the backbone of our fleet operations, seamlessly switching between wrenching and welding to keep our crews productive:
Advanced Diagnostics & Repair:
Expertly diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on heavy yellow iron, trucks, and trailers.
Custom Fabrication & Welding:
Fabricate and weld structural steel components, heavy equipment attachments, and essential job site materials to support our field crews.
Preventative Maintenance:
Execute rigorous preventative maintenance schedules and routine inspections to ensure peak machinery performance and catch issues before they cause downtime.
Precision Assembly:
Accurately interpret technical drawings, measurements, and work orders to assemble or repair shop-built items with high precision using advanced hand and power tools.
Shop Operations:
Coordinate equipment status updates and material needs directly with supervisors to streamline shop workflow.
Safety & Compliance:
Maintain a safe, highly organized, and efficient shop yard environment in strict accordance with OSHA standards. What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)
Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, welder, or fabricator. (Previous experience specifically within the civil construction or sitework industry is highly preferred!)
Technical Mastery:
Advanced, hands-on knowledge of diesel engines, heavy hydraulics, and complex electrical systems.
Welding Proficiency:
High proficiency in MIG welding. (TIG or Stick experience is heavily preferred).
Licensure & Credentials:
An active Mechanic License OR documented Union affiliation is strictly required. A valid Driver's License is also required. (Possession of a CDL or advanced equipment/welding certifications is a massive plus!)
Physical Capabilities:
The ability to lift up to 50 lbs and thrive in a highly active, outdoor/indoor shop environment. High School Diploma or GED preferred. Compensation & Premium Benefits We reward our master mechanics with a highly lucrative total rewards package:
