Heavy Mobile Mechanic

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Mobile Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment including Class 5-8 trucks, trailers, excavators, bulldozers, and other industrial machinery using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance such as filter replacements, brake repairs, suspension work, and tire service to keep equipment in optimal condition. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Repair and service diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics systems, air brakes, shocks & struts, and electrical components on various machinery. Use heavy equipment operation skills to assist with on-site equipment assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting during repair or installation projects. Maintain detailed service records including inspection reports, repair logs, schematics interpretation, and maintenance schedules. Ensure all safety protocols are followed during repairs and inspections to promote a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues. Skills Proven experience working with heavy equipment such as excavators, tractors-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in Class 5-8 diagnostics and repair techniques for diesel engines and transmissions. Skilled in fabrication processes including welding, assembly, and use of power tools. Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting electrical systems and hydraulics. Familiarity with dealership standards for vehicle maintenance and service technician practices. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely. Customer service orientation with clear communication skills to explain repairs or maintenance procedures effectively.
