Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy machinery used in construction, industrial projects. In this energetic role, you'll diagnose, troubleshoot, and service equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability. Your expertise will keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently, supporting large-scale projects with precision and professionalism. •Starting pay of $28/hour with the right experience• Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy construction equipment such as trucks, excavators, bulldozers, and loaders. Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, hydraulic system checks, transmission servicing, brake repairs, tire services, and electrical diagnostics. Fabricate parts or components as needed using hand tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency. Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately. Repair and maintain farm machinery and industrial equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Operate heavy machinery during testing phases or when performing on-site repairs to verify proper function after servicing. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety standards and warranty requirements. Requirements Proven experience as a mechanic specializing in heavy construction equipment Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brake systems, HVAC systems, and electrical components. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, welding tools, and diagnostic software to perform repairs efficiently. Ability to read and interpret schematics, OEM manuals, and technical diagrams for troubleshooting complex issues. Experience with fabrication techniques including welding and assembly of custom parts or modifications. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation combined with mechanical expertise to assist during on-site repairs or testing. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients about repair needs or technical issues. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate various types of industrial machinery as required for diagnostics or testing purposes.
