EXPERIENCED MECHANIC
- Popp Excavating Traverse City, MI | Full-Time About Us Popp Excavating has been a trusted name in northern Michigan for over 32 years. Based in Traverse City, we provide residential and commercial excavating, septic systems, shoreline work, driveways, site development, and snow removal services across the five-county area. We take pride in our well-maintained equipment fleet, our commitment to our customers, and the quality of our work. The Role We're looking for an experienced mechanic to join our shop and help keep our equipment fleet running at its best. This is a hands-on role supporting a busy excavating operation with a wide variety of heavy equipment. What You'll Do Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, trucks, and related machinery Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs Work closely with field operators to identify and resolve equipment issues quickly What We're Looking For Proven experience as a mechanic — heavy equipment and/or diesel experience strongly preferred Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems Strong work ethic and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a small, close-knit team Valid driver's license required What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Year-round, stable employment with a well-established local company A supportive team environment Work you can be proud of — serving the northern Michigan community How to Apply Apply online at www.poppexcavating.com/employment-opportunities or email office@poppexcavating.com.
