Job Description

Overview We are looking for a dependable individual to join our team as a Tractor Yard Salvage Technician. In this role you will be dismantling tractors, retrieving parts for the sales department and moving tractors from the yard into our tear down bays. This is an outside position with a yard truck to operate from. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of tractor brands. You will use forklifts, boom loaders and other heavy machinery. Being an "on your feet" thinker is essential in solving daily challenges with how to retrieve the parts needed. Delivering exceptional customer service is how we have built our brand. You will assist in loading customers when needed. After 6 months there is a company paid tool allowance per month. Duties Disassemble tractors. 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive style. You will use hand tools, power tools, welding, and fabrication techniques to retrieve necessary parts. Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, boom loaders and other equipment safely to assist in salvage operations. Read schematics and technical manuals to identify parts for removal or repair, ensuring precise and efficient work. Perform vehicle maintenance tasks including brake repair, transmission servicing, oil changes and all other duties assigned. Use electrical knowledge to troubleshoot wiring issues and remove wiring harness without damage. Maintain accurate records of dismantling processes and parts inventory. Communicate with the owners and management team with yard progress, while adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to work quickly and safely. The ability to learn and take direction. Hands-on experience operating forklifts, boom loaders and other heavy machinery safely. Must supply your own tools. Knowledge of tractor tear down and repair is a plus. Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting on a daily basis. Customer service skills are a plus for interacting with internal teams or external clients when needed. This role offers an opportunity to develop your skills in tractor salvage while not being in a shop setting. If you are an outdoors person, this may be the position you are looking for.
