Construction Yard Technician

Are you tired of working inside in a warehouse loading the same things over and over? Are you organized with a positive attitude, have a desire to learn mechanical and operating skills? Being an OCCI Construction Material Handler you will learn about heavy construction tools and equipment, gain equipment operating skills and hopefully have fun while working outside. You will be responsible for assisting with loading and unloading of shipments of our equipment and maintain consumable inventory. The successful candidates must value working safely in covered, and uncovered facilities.

Some job duties include:

Keeping inventory of repair parts and ensure adequate stock of parts on hand Ensure tools and equipment are properly tested and functional prior to sending out to jobs Receiving incoming tools, equipment & materials from job sites, inspecting, and inventorying returning products Adhere to policies and procedures while maintaining good morale and a reliable attendance record. Developing knowledge of construction equipment, tools and their operation.

Qualifications/Education:

Must be comfortable operating a computer and a barcode scanner to manage inventories Strong desire to learn and contribute at a higher level in the future Organizational skills, warehouse experience a plus Ability to pass background check Ability to operate (or willingness to learn to operate) forklift and general construction equipment, preferred. Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly.
