Technicians and other related service roles at John Deere dealerships play a critical role in providing exceptional service and support to our customers by performing diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and technical support on a wide range of agricultural, construction, and turf equipment. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering top-tier customer satisfaction and upholding the quality standards synonymous with the John Deere brand. Key Responsibilities Conduct equipment inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on John Deere equipment, including tractors, harvesters, loaders, excavators, and mowers, in accordance with technical manuals and dealership procedures. Utilize specialized tools and equipment to complete service and repair work, ensuring the highest level of workmanship and safety standards. Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating repair processes, timelines, and recommendations to customers and internal team members. Accurately document all service and repair activities, including parts usage, labor hours, and diagnostic findings, using dealership management systems. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal technical training program in diesel, mechanical, or agricultural equipment is preferred. Proven experience as a technician or mechanic, preferably in the agricultural or heavy equipment industry. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in heavy equipment, particularly John Deere products. Strong understanding of diagnostic tools, software, and equipment, including the ability to interpret and act upon diagnostic codes and reports. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude. Additional Requirements Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and parts (up to 50 pounds) as needed. What Makes You Stand Out Forklift operation certification for moving heavy parts. Experience with John Deere Service ADVISOR™ or similar repair and diagnostic information systems Knowledge of warranties and parts return procedures!
