Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment to ensure optimal operational performance. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical expertise, hands-on experience with various types of heavy equipment, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery using OEM specifications and schematics. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, brake repairs, transmission servicing, and hydraulic system inspections. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, and hand tools to meet specific repair requirements. Troubleshoot electrical systems, including automotive diagnostics and electrical wiring for industrial equipment. Operate heavy machinery safely during repair procedures and ensure all work complies with safety regulations. Maintain accurate service records, logs, and documentation for all repairs and inspections. Assist in the assembly, disassembly, and testing of equipment such as power tools, HVAC units, or other mechanical systems. Support customer service efforts by providing technical advice and ensuring timely completion of repairs. Use schematics and technical manuals to identify issues accurately and execute precise repairs. Perform tire services, alignment adjustments, air brake system repairs, suspension work, and other specialized tasks. Skills Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery. Strong knowledge of OEM parts specifications and ability to interpret schematics effectively. Hands-on fabrication skills utilizing welding, soldering, and assembly techniques. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics with a focus on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems. Familiarity with service technician practices for industrial equipment maintenance. Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently during repair tasks. Mechanical knowledge encompassing HVAC systems, electrical troubleshooting, tire service, and vehicle maintenance. Experience working with heavy lifting equipment safely in various environments. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation. Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance. This position is integral to maintaining the operational integrity of our fleet while supporting safety standards across all activities. Pay:
$35.00 - $45.00 per hour
