JOB SUMMARY
Perform a variety of tasks on heavy duty trucks and trailers. Will perform diagnostic tests for routine maintenance procedures and determine a course of action for damaged, missing and replacement parts and systems. This position is primarily responsible for inspecting & preparing new tractors for in-service, used tractors for re-assignment and sale tractors for delivery to our customers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will report to the shop foreman on a daily basis with job assignments prioritized based on current demand. Perform repairs and maintenance of trailers and trucks, including preventative maintenance inspections. Must meet safety and security requirements to safely operate and maintain the equipment being serviced and prepared for various segments of our fleet operation. Must be able to create work orders in our computer system/handheld device for in house as well as outsourced work. Must be able to complete basic equipment inspections. Must be able to complete basic electrical diagnostics and component replacement. Must be able to complete basic body related component replacement. Must be able to complete brake inspections and replacements to include air-brake certification required by FMCSA. Must be able to remove/replace tires and wheels Must be able to complete PM/DOT services, including FMCSA annual inspections. Help maintain positive working relationship with our drivers and other associates.
REQUIREMENTS
Attendance as scheduled is an essential function of this position. 1-2 years industry experience preferred. Valid driver's license. Must have Brake and AVI certified IAW with CFR 49. Wilson will provide training and certification for those not already certified. Must have and be able to use basic hand tools and pneumatic tools. Experience with Windows based operating systems. A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines. Be able to safely operate heavy equipment on the yard to include entry and exit of shop bays

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Associate is frequently required to operate machinery and repetitively grasp objects simply and firmly and use fine manipulation dexterity. Must be able to work at heights of 14 feet. Associate must occasionally sit, stand, walk, squat/kneel, crawl/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, push/pull, flex/extend/rotate neck and wrists, rotate forearms, reach vertically and horizontally, and lift and carry up to 75 lbs. Must be able to use hands together and separately at all levels from ankle to above head. Must use both feet together, separately and repetitively to operate equipment. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Must be able to hear and follow instruction.
