Job Description

Be the Power Behind Heavy Equipment. Are you hands-on, mechanically skilled, and ready to take the next step in your career? Join our team as a Service Technician II and work on powerful Caterpillar heavy equipment, ensuring it performs at its best when it matters most. This role is ideal for experienced technicians who are ready to build on their foundation in a skilled trade. You'll work both independently and alongside seasoned professionals in a professional service shop environment. From advanced diagnostics and preventive maintenance to complex repairs, you'll play a key role in keeping construction, agriculture, and industry moving.
What You'll Do:
Tear down, reassemble and install diesel-powered equipment—engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and powertrain components—with precision and pride.
Troubleshoot like a detective:
Identify issues, determine root causes, and perform efficient repairs. Maintain and repair equipment and components, following safety protocols and quality standards. Test and adjust machine systems using cutting-edge diagnostic tools. Evaluate parts for reusability based on OEM guidelines, and coordinate replacement parts orders with your supervisor. Complete clear, detailed service reports and keep your supervisor in the loop throughout your repairs. Ensure every machine is tested, inspected, and ready to perform before delivery. Keep your workspace clean, tools maintained, and yourself looking sharp - professionalism matters here. Stay current with new tools, technologies, and industry innovations.

Role:
High school diploma or GED required. Technical training in diesel engines, heavy equipment, or military mechanical experience preferred. Minimum of 2+ years of experience in heavy equipment, diesel, automotive, or truck engine repair required. Solid understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, and mechanical diagnostics, with experience in heavy equipment applications. Proficient with mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a drive for accuracy. Comfortable reading schematics, manuals, and technical documents. Physically capable of lifting, standing, and working in a demanding shop environment for 8-10 hour shifts. Competent with computer systems - you will learn to use our systems like SIS and DBS. Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends when needed. Must possess and maintain a complete set of tools (both SAE and metric) required to perform repairs on heavy equipment. Safety & Work Environment Safety is a core part of everything we do. You are expected to follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times. Proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory, including but not limited to safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, hearing protection, and any job-specific gear. Work safely and remain aware of your surroundings in a high-energy shop environment with heavy equipment in motion. Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or injuries, and take an active role in maintaining a safe workplace for yourself and your team. Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement efforts to strengthen our safety culture.
