Job Description

Butte Country Club Equipment Technician Job Objective:
To maintain operating function of all golf course equipment by performing preventative maintenance and repairs. Strong work ethic, organization skills, consistently positive attitude and clear communications are critical components to the success of the position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prioritize, schedule and perform appropriate preventative maintenance work. Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical defects and failures in various golf course maintenance equipment including diesel, electric and gasoline powered automobiles, trucks, trenchers, sweepers, rollers, mowers and other mechanical equipment used in the maintenance of the golf course. Keep all mowing equipment operable and properly adjusted at all times. Properly sharpen reel and bed knife using various grinding methods. Keep a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, cost of repairs and preventative maintenance of all equipment. Maintain shop working area in neat, clean, and orderly fashion and observe working conditions in compliance with all appropriate safety and compliance laws. Instruct and/or train golf course maintenance workers regarding preventative maintenance, and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment. Help create a SOP regarding equipment. Spot checks equipment for performance on the golf course, frequently makes emergency repairs to equipment on the golf course and services equipment prior to its use. Assist with mechanical problems in other departments when necessary. Assist with course maintenance such as mowing, irrigation, bunker work, aeration, etc.… Will be involved in winter support tasks including snow removal. Performs welding or machining work. Perform all duties and responsibilities in a SAFE manner. Safety is always priority.
Additional Requirements and Standards:
Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times. Organization skills a must. Availability to work early hours and occasional weekends. Working knowledge of light and heavy-duty maintenance equipment and automotive apparatuses. Skill in use of a variety of equipment repair tools, and the making of various types of mechanical repair. Working knowledge of the theory, care and operation of internal combustion engines and mowing equipment. Ability to move heavy objects. Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment. Ability to communicate effectively and keep business records. Knowledge of and or ability to play the game of golf and understand how job performance affects the playing conditions of the golf course.

Salary:
