Job Description
Overview We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Yard Help to join our dynamic team! In this hands-on role, you will assist with a variety of maintenance, repair, and operational tasks around the yard, ensuring equipment and vehicles are in top condition. Your mechanical aptitude and enthusiasm for automotive and equipment repair will drive your success as you support our operations. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills while contributing to the smooth functioning of our facility. Some Duties but not limited to: Clean, inspect, and maintain heavy equipment and attachments. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, heavy equipment, generators, and other machinery using hand tools, power tools, welding, and soldering techniques. Assist with diesel engine repairs, electrical troubleshooting, schematics interpretation, and mechanical system diagnostics. Conduct inspections of equipment and vehicles to identify issues and perform necessary repairs or maintenance. Support dealership and service technician teams by preparing parts, assisting with repairs, and ensuring tools are organized and maintained. Handle heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining a clean and organized yard environment. Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot electrical systems, perform welding or fabrication work, and repair Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with team members and supporting sales efforts when needed. Preferred Experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy equipment operation, maintenance, or a related field Experience operating loaders, excavators, dozers, skid steers, and equipment trailers Mechanical experience, including servicing equipment, trucks, and performing basic repairs Experience installing tire chains and working on trucks is preferred Dependable, mature, self-motivated, and safety-conscious Ability to follow directions and work independently Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service. Requirements Must be able to pass a drug screening Valid driver's license preferred Ability to safely lift, move, and work around heavy equipment If you have experience with heavy equipment and take pride in keeping equipment running and job sites operating efficiently, we encourage you to apply.
