Griffin Companies, a leader in the demolition and construction industry, is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Charlotte, NC. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and inspections on company-owned and leased heavy equipment and vehicles Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, including engines, transmissions, and brake systems Repair, replace, clean, and lubricate vehicle and equipment parts as needed Examine and repair hydraulic components for leaks, ruptured hoses, or worn gaskets Travel to job sites to perform on-site repairs as necessary Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues Rebuild or replace engines, repair hydraulic fluid pumps, and address electrical problems Work in various environments, including exposure to hot and cold temperatures Accurately complete repair orders and maintain electronic logs Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair Experience with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, suspension, and brake systems Knowledge of heavy equipment parts, performance requirements, and hydraulic systems Proficient in using hand and power tools, welding, and flame cutting equipment Ability to read and interpret service manuals Mechanical aptitude and strong organizational skills Valid driver's license and safe driving habits Knowledge of small engine equipment such as generators and compressors (preferred) Advanced education or training in electronic computerized diagnostic systems (preferred) Compensation Competitive salary based on experience.
