Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. In this energetic role, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment directly on-site at project locations, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep construction sites, and industrial operations running smoothly, making a tangible impact every day. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other farm machinery using OEM schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, hydraulic system servicing, transmission repairs, brake adjustments, tire service, and air brake systems to ensure equipment reliability. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using hand tools, welding techniques, and power tools to meet specific job requirements. Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, suspension components, HVAC systems, and diesel engines to identify issues accurately and efficiently. Assist with heavy lifting operations and equipment assembly to facilitate repairs or upgrades on-site. Maintain detailed service records, repair logs, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and OEM specifications. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair statuses clearly and offering technical guidance when needed. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment or industrial machinery; dealership experience is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including hydraulics, transmissions, electrical diagnostics, air brakes, HVAC systems, and tire service. Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting complex issues on excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and other heavy machinery. Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication methods. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary. Familiarity with OEM parts specifications for Caterpillar or similar brands; experience with automotive repair is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service aptitude to support clients effectively in the field. Valid certifications in diesel engine repair, brake repair, electrical systems or relevant trade credentials are preferred. Embark on a career where your mechanical expertise drives success! $25.53 - $30.74 per hour
