Job Description

Bottomley is hiring an Engine Repair Mechanic. This role diagnoses, services, and repairs gasoline or diesel engines, ensuring optimal performance through skilled troubleshooting, part replacement, and maintenance. This person will need to use specialized computerized diagnostic tools and hand tools to repair engines and components like transmissions and electrical systems. We are looking for someone that has 2-3 years of experience.
Key Responsibilities Diagnostics:
Use computerized test equipment to identify engine malfunctions, troubleshoot issues, and determine necessary repairs.
Repair & Replacement:
Repair or replace damaged, worn, or faulty engine parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, bearings, spark plugs, and timing belts.
Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, fluid level checks, air filter replacements, and engine tuning.
Testing:
Test engines, components, and equipment post-repair to ensure proper performance and compliance with safety specifications.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate, detailed service records of repairs, diagnostics, and parts usage.
Customer Service:
Discuss equipment issues and repair options with customers, providing estimates and explaining required services.
Qualifications Experience:
2-3+ years of professional experience in automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment maintenance.
Education:
High School Diploma or vocational training in automotive technology.
Skills:
Proficiency with diagnostic tools, strong mechanical aptitude, and ability to read service manuals and schematics.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy parts (up to 100 lbs.), stand for long periods, and work in varied environmental conditions.
Tools:
Must possess own set of basic hand and air tools.
