Griffin Companies, a leader in the demolition and heavy equipment industry, is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and inspections on company-owned and leased heavy equipment and vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, including engines, transmissions, suspension, brake systems, and hydraulic components Repair, replace, clean, and lubricate parts as needed to extend equipment lifespan Travel to job sites as required to perform on-site repairs and maintenance Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently Rebuild or replace engines, repair hydraulic fluid pumps, and address electrical problems as necessary Work in a variety of environments, including exposure to hot and cold temperatures Accurately complete repair orders and maintain electronic logs or log books Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair Experience with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, suspension, and brake systems Knowledge of heavy equipment parts, performance requirements, and hydraulic systems Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, welding, and flame cutting equipment Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend service manuals Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team Valid driver's license and safe driving habits Knowledge of small engine equipment such as generators and compressors (preferred) Advanced education or training in electronic computerized diagnostic systems and equipment (preferred) Compensation Competitive salary based on experience.
