Our Millwrights and Mechanics are the glue that keeps our mill together and running. Why This Role Matters At Armour Lumber Mill, uptime isn't optional. Our rolling stock mobile equipment mechanics play a critical role in keeping operations safe, reliable, and moving. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy mobile equipment that supports daily mill operations. If you take pride in diagnosing issues quickly, preventing breakdowns before they happen, and working in a fast-paced industrial environment — this role is built for you. What You'll Do Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on rolling stock and mobile equipment (e.g., forklifts, loaders, skid steers, utility vehicles, yard equipment) Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and diesel engine systems Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards Troubleshoot breakdowns and minimize operational downtime Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner Maintain a clean and safe work environment Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize repairs Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on rolling stock and mobile equipment (e.g., forklifts, loaders, skid steers, utility vehicles, yard equipment) Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and diesel engine systems Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards Troubleshoot breakdowns and minimize operational downtime Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner Maintain a clean and safe work environment Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize repairs What We're Looking For 3+ years of industrial or heavy equipment mechanical experience Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems Ability to read schematics and technical manuals Welding and fabrication experience preferred Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and respond to breakdowns as needed 3+ years of industrial or heavy equipment mechanical experience Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems Ability to read schematics and technical manuals Welding and fabrication experience preferred Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and respond to breakdowns as needed Perks & Growth Benefits begin DAY 1 Competitive starting pay A culture that strongly believes in promoting from within Medical, Dental, and Vision 401k with company match AND additional retirement contribution Employee Stock Purchase Plan Life Insurance Disability Insurance Paid Vacations and Holidays A team that supports you — not just a boss that manages you Overtime opportunities
MUST-HAVE
(Non-Negotiables) High School Diploma or GED Ability to work weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime to support 24/7 operations Ability to follow all West Fraser safety policies and procedures Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with team members Ability to walk, stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift Comfortable working in an industrial mill environment (heat, noise, dust) Successful completion of a background check, drug screen, and physical Real Talk We hire for skill and work ethic.
