Job Description We are in search of a full-time Lead Mechanic who has
EXTENSIVE
diagnostic troubleshooting capabilities and the skills to lead our team of mechanics. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of machines, engines, and mechanical systems. An excellent Lead Mechanic must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. The ideal person must be able to manage and work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions. Responsibilities The Lead Mechanic will be in charge of managing a group of mechanics, and it will be their duty to maintain efficiency, shop order, safety, and mechanical excellence, especially diagnostics and preventative maintenance. Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run computerized diagnostic tests to identify, diagnose, and resolve functionality issues. Conduct lite mechanical repairs aiming for maximum reliability. Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users. Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately. Prioritize workloads, communicate with customers, and oversee quality control on all equipment. Manage and maintains records of all repairs, and maintenance work completed, including order parts, supplies, communicating with venders and keeping inventory of tools. Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT. The working environment includes both indoor and outdoor spaces. This is a full-time 50hr week position. Skills Must be able to Lead. Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic manager. The ability to conduct inspections and diagnostics is imperative. Excellent knowledge of machinery, air brakes, electrical, welding, and other systems, and their components. Experience in workload management with prioritization of skillsets to designated jobs. Committed to all health and safety guidelines. Strong communication skills and ability to provide work direction to a team of mechanics.
