Job Description

Company Overview "D" Electric Motors, Inc. has been a trusted provider in the electric motor and pump repair industry since 1978. As a family-owned business, we pride ourselves on our rich history and commitment to quality service.
Description of Responsibilities:
Under limited direction, perform preparation work and rewind various kinds of electromechanical equipment. Keep work area neat and clean. Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear including, but not limited to, eye and ear protection. Assist other shop employees with skilled or non-skilled duties as directed. All duties performed may not be listed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Performed:
  • Inspect various kinds of electromechanical equipment for damage and evidence of electrical malfunctions.
  • Test condition of windings according to
EASA AR100.
  • Illustrate and/or document all relevant data specific to unit's electromagnetic characteristics, operating conditions, existing damage, or intended serviceability.
  • Dismantle and/or strip damaged or unserviceable electromechanical equipment.
  • Prepare all reusable parts for rewinding and inspect renewed parts for hidden, structural damage or unusual conditions.
  • Rewind various kinds of electromechanical equipment, including, but not limited to, single-phase, three-phase, DC fields, armatures, wound rotors and transformers. Observe proper insulating techniques and/or requirements during rewinding.
  • Test rewound electromechanical equipment according to EASA AR100 and document test results.
  • Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including but not limited to, winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, cut-off saws, burnout ovens, grinders, cranes, forklifts, brazing units, dip tanks, VPI systems, and various handheld power and non-power tools.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma plus some trade school, vocational/technical school, military, or on-the-job work or training required.
  • Five years rewind experience preferred.
  • Appointees must possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey and abide by the company's motor vehicle policy.
  • Overtime required for emergency, rush jobs as needed.
