This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment used in ready-mix and aggregate operations. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and experienced in working with diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including loaders, mixers, skid steers, manlifts, and other construction/aggregate equipment Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using appropriate testing equipment and software Complete preventative maintenance inspections and document findings accurately Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, and other critical components Conduct safety inspections to ensure equipment meets company and regulatory standards Maintain accurate service records, including labor, parts, and repair notes Order and track parts and materials needed for repairs Support shop organization and maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment Assist other mechanics and collaborate with operations teams as needed Perform field service repairs when required Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations Perform other duties as assigned Position Requirements 2+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic (or equivalent combination of training and experience) Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems Ability to diagnose and repair equipment issues efficiently Experience with diagnostic tools and software (e.g., Davie, Cummins Insite, Cat ET, or similar) preferred Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Must have own basic set of tools Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or emergency repairs Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail Ability to lift up to 75 pounds Ability to work in outdoor environments, including extreme temperatures and weather conditions Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing on equipment Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screen
