Service Manager Position Summary:
Kimball Equipment is seeking a motivated and dependable Entry-Level Shop Technician to support shop operations by assisting with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of crushing, screening, and aggregate equipment. This position is ideal for individuals looking to start a career in the heavy equipment industry. The role provides hands-on training and development opportunities while working alongside experienced technicians.
Responsibilities:
Assist technicians with maintenance, repairs, and rebuilds of crushing and screening equipment. Perform basic tasks such as cleaning, disassembly, and reassembly of components. Prepare tools, parts, and equipment for jobs and work orders. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment. Support equipment inspections and help document findings. Operate basic shop tools and equipment under supervision. Assist with loading/unloading equipment and parts. Follow all company, MSHA, and OSHA safety procedures and guidelines. Learn to read service manuals, schematics, and work instructions. Perform other duties as assigned to support shop operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Mechanical aptitude or interest in heavy equipment repair. Previous shop, construction, or mechanical experience is a plus but not required. Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians. Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude. Basic hand tool knowledge preferred. Ability to work in a team environment. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in a shop setting.
