This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with large-scale machinery, including diesel engines, generators, and industrial equipment. As a key player in maintaining and repairing large motors, you'll ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability across various applications. Your mechanical knowledge, electrical experience, and hands-on skills will be essential in delivering top-notch service to our clients and supporting our operational excellence. Duties Diagnose and repair large motors, including diesel engines, generators, and industrial equipment using schematics and technical manuals. Perform electrical troubleshooting, soldering, welding, and mechanical repairs to restore equipment functionality efficiently. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery to complete repairs accurately. Conduct routine vehicle maintenance and heavy lifting tasks safely to support ongoing operations. Interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams to identify issues and implement effective solutions. Collaborate with team members to ensure repairs meet safety standards and quality expectations. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repair processes and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the service cycle. Requirements Proven dealership or service technician experience working with large motors or heavy machinery. Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive repair, equipment repair, diesel engines, and generator systems. Electrical experience including troubleshooting wiring issues, soldering, and understanding schematics. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments. Experience with Caterpillar or similar heavy-duty equipment is highly preferred. Excellent customer service skills combined with a proactive approach to sales opportunities related to maintenance services. Pay:
$26.95 - $32.45 per hour Application Question(s): When you worked on motors, were you repairing/rebuilding them or mainly troubleshooting/replacing them. Have you worked with AC and DC motors directly? What sizes? Have you replaced bearings, seals, shafts, couplings, or aligned motors/pumps? Have you worked on gearboxes, reducers, conveyors, pumps, or rotating equipment? Have you done motor testing such as megger testing, insulation testing, or diagnosing failed windings? Would you be open to moving from plant maintenance into a motor shop/service repair environment?
