Full Job Description Shop Mechanic Job Description:
The Shop Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining company rig and drilling equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role works primarily in a shop environment with some travel required as needed and supports rig fleet reliability through preventative maintenance and timely repairsKey Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on company rig equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
- Keep the shop clean, organized, and stocked with necessary tools and materials
- Communicate repair needs and timelines with supervisors
- Assist with equipment breakdowns and urgent repair needs as required
- Work schedule Monday - Friday.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience as a mechanic or maintenance technician preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools
- Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license required
- Bilingual preferred
- Safety sensitive position. Must pass hair follicle drug screen
- Must have reliable transportation
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods
- Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, grease, and equipment
Work Environment:
- Shop-based position with occasional outdoor work
- Full-time schedule; overtime may be required based on workload
