Job Description

Our client, a growing waste management company, is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic to join their maintenance team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of heavy-duty trucks and equipment that keep daily operations running smoothly. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanic who enjoys working on a variety of equipment and takes pride in keeping vehicles safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday | 12:00 PM - 8:00
PM Pay:
$20 - $30 per hour (DOE) What You'll Be Doing Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and equipment Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues Repair and maintain roll-off trucks, tractor trailers, front-end loaders, and other fleet equipment Conduct inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns Replace and repair components such as brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, electrical systems, engines, and driveline components Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow all company safety procedures and environmental regulations Qualifications Previous experience as a diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, fleet mechanic, or related role Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Experience working on heavy-duty trucks, tractor trailers, loaders, or similar equipment Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment safely Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs effectively Strong work ethic and dependable attendance Valid driver's license required Preferred Qualifications CDL is a plus but not required Welding and fabrication experience Experience in waste management, construction, transportation, or industrial equipment maintenance Familiarity with DOT inspections and compliance requirements Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy components Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in varying weather conditions Comfortable working around heavy equipment and moving machinery If you're an experienced mechanic looking for a role where your skills make a direct impact on daily operations, we'd love to hear from you.
