Job Description

Forklift Service Technician Mark's Lift Truck Service, Inc. provides full shop and mobile service for material handling and heavy equipment. In addition to repairs, rentals and parts services we have a full service hydraulic shop. Mark's Lift Truck Service, Inc. is based out of Forest Grove, OR, but services the Portland Metro region, SW Washington and many other outlying areas. Forklift Service Technician Overview We are currently seeking a Forklift Service Technician. You will be responsible for the routine maintenance, diagnosis and repair, primarily on Forklifts. Job Description Details Perform all levels of preventative maintenance services, such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment. Must have knowledge of gas, diesel and LPG fuel systems. Inspect and repair vehicle brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, clutches, wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition. Raise trucks and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists. Inspect, test and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments. Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts and specified safety devices. Specialize in repairing and troubleshooting of major components such as engine, transmissions and differentials, to include replacing complete assemblies, turbochargers, fuel system components etc. Basic fabrication and welding. Look for additional repair opportunities Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order Prepare required documentation including work orders, parts list and time cards. Demonstrate professionalism and strive for customer satisfaction Job Requirements 2-4 years mechanic experience required, previous forklift experience preferred High school diploma or equivalent required Ability to operate field service truck and shop cranes. Ensure assigned company vehicle maintains a clean professional appearance and is in proper working order. Clear communication skills Able to contribute positively to a quality team environment Willingness and desire to learn A self starter and work under minimal supervision. A valid drivers license is required (CDL preferred); must maintain a clean driving record Ability to work in adverse weather conditions subject to heat, cold, noise, dust, etc Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks.
